Retirement Options

The dream of many people was always get a job, start a family and buy a house. You started off with the job first so that you could afford to buy a St. Paul or Mississauga condo or house and ensure that you would be able to financially provide for your family. Get the job first and everything else will fall into place afterward, they would say. Eventually though your family starts to splinter off as your kids want to fulfill their own dreams of working, starting their own family and owning their own St. Paul or Riverdale houses.

While the moment of watching your kids grew up and fly the coop might be an emotional one it's also the start of a new chapter in your life. A chapter where many people, especially those near retirement or already retired, look to alter their previous dreams. Working and taking care of a family are no longer in play and if you own a very large house what's the point of keeping it? If it's only going to be you and your loved one or just yourself living in an empty house you're better off putting up your house for sale in Mississauga or St. Paul and moving into a smaller, more manageable property.

Think of it as the new dream. A world where you no longer have to work, take care of children or maintain a home that involves too much time, effort and work. You're supposed to be enjoying your retirement years, not worrying about mowing the lawn or cleaning out the attic. If you find yourself with a home so big you don't know what to do with it then look at possible retirement options to see what you can do to alter your current living conditions.

If you're family has moved to other parts of the world you really have no need to stick it out in your current city, which means being able to move to a place where it's much warmer all year long. Or maybe you have some retired folks enjoying the life of living in Yonge and Eglinton condos and you would like to join them and start a condo community or purchase your own condo in St. Paul. Going from a large house to a condo makes things much simpler, as you no longer have to deal with taking care of a property that involves too much work.

You can also even just sell your home and use the money you make from the sale to travel the world and stay in rental condos in downtown Toronto, Florida or the Dominican Republic. The world is yours once you retire so do with it what you want!
